Understanding AI Credits on Tyms

AI credits determine how much financial data your account can process within a billing cycle. This article explains how credits work, what consumes them, how to track usage, and how to purchase additional credits if needed.

What Are AI Credits?

AI credits are the usage units tied to your subscription plan. They control how many transactions and AI-powered actions your account can process within each billing cycle.

Your available credit balance is always visible on the AI credit indicator at the bottom-left corner of your screen.

How AI Credits Are Calculated

Credit usage is simple and predictable:

  • 1 transaction = 0.1 credit

  • 10 transactions = 1 credit

For example, if your plan includes 50 credits, you can process up to 500 transactions within your billing cycle.

Transactions that consume credits include:

  • Bank transactions (uploaded statements or synced accounts)

  • Invoices

  • Bills

  • Journal entries

  • Other financial records

Each individual transaction created or processed consumes 0.1 credit.

What Activities Consume Credits?

Beyond standard transaction processing, the following actions also use credits:

Image Uploads

Uploading a receipt or financial document uses 0.1 credit.
If multiple transactions are extracted from a single image, each extracted transaction consumes 0.1 credit.

AI Messages

Each message sent to Adam for assistance or inquiries consumes 0.1 credit.

Credits are always deducted based on the amount of AI processing performed.

How to Track Credit Usage

Credits are deducted automatically as transactions are processed.

  1. Navigate to Settings

    • Click the gear icon in the top navigation to open Settings.

  2. Select "Usage"

    • From the side menu, select Usage.

    • This opens the Usage page, displaying credit activity for the selected month and year, adjustable using the filters at the top right.

  3. Review the Credit Summary

    • Four summary cards provide an overview of credit activity for the selected period: Credit Balance shows the current available credits, Credit In shows credits added, Credit Out shows credits deducted, and Net Credit shows the overall change for the period.

  4. View Credits Used Over Time

    • The Credits used over time chart displays a daily breakdown of credit usage, making it easy to identify high-usage days.

  5. Review the Usage Breakdown

    • The Usage breakdown table lists each activity type, such as Invoicing, Document Extractor, Income, and Journals, along with the exact number of credits used per activity. This provides visibility into which actions are consuming credits.

Real-Time Credit Indicator

As transactions are processed, the credit indicator updates in real time. The remaining balance adjusts instantly once processing is complete. This indicator is displayed as a number inside a circle at the top right of the screen, beside the settings icon.

Purchasing Additional Credits

If you need more credits:

  1. Navigate to Settings

    • Click the gear icon in the top navigation to open Settings.

  2. Select "Billing"

    • From the side menu, select Billing.

  3. Locate the Credits Section

    • Under Credits, the current balance is displayed showing credits remaining out of the total available for the period.

    • Click Buy more credit.

  4. Enter Purchase Amount

    • Enter the desired purchase amount. The system automatically displays the number of credits to be received.

    • Confirm the purchase.

Once confirmed, the credit balance updates immediately and reflects on both the Billing page and the credit indicator at the top right of the screen.
