How to Adjust Inventory in Tyms Accounting Software

Correct stock levels in Tyms after a count, damage, loss, or other discrepancy.

Managing inventory efficiently is essential for maintaining accurate stock levels and streamlining business operations. With Tyms software, you can now perform multiple inventory adjustments in a single action, allowing for bulk changes with ease. This feature is designed to save time and enhance accuracy when managing your stock records, ensuring your inventory stays up-to-date and well-organized.

Step 1: Access the Inventory Module

  1. Log in to your Tyms account https://app.usetyms.com.

  2. From the top navigation bar, click More.

  3. From the dropdown, hover over Inventory, then select Adjustments from the flyout menu.

Step 2: Create a New Adjustment

  1. You'll land on the Inventory Adjustment table.

  2. Click Create Inventory Adjustment. You'll see three options: Ask Adam, Adjust Stock, and Adjust Value. Select either Adjust Stock or Adjust Value, depending on what you're correcting.

  3. Provide the adjustment details:

    • Reason: Enter a reason for the adjustment (e.g., stock count, damage, loss).

    • Description: Add a detailed description for clarity.

    • Date: The date the adjustment takes effect.

    • Adjustment Type: Stock or Value.

    • Reference: A reference number or label for the adjustment.

    • Currency: The currency for the adjustment.

Step 3: Add Adjustment Items

For Adjust Stock:

  • Items: The item(s) you're adjusting.

  • Stock Available: The current available stock quantity.

  • Stock Change: The quantity you're adjusting by. Use a positive integer to increase stock (e.g., 2, 3) or a negative number to decrease stock (e.g., -2).

  • New Stock: The resulting stock quantity after the adjustment.

For Adjust Value:

  • Items: The item(s) you're adjusting.

  • Current Value: The item's current recorded price.

  • Value Change: The amount you're adjusting by. Use a positive integer to increase value (e.g., 200, 3) or a negative number to decrease value (e.g., -2).

  • New Value: The resulting value after the adjustment.

Use the Action column to add or remove items: click + to add another item to adjust, or to remove one.

Step 4: Set the Account and Classification

Account:

  1. Select the Inventory Account associated with the adjustment.

  2. Choose the Cost Account to track the value changes.

Classification:

  1. Projects: Tag a project, if relevant.

  2. Branches: Allocate the adjustment to a specific branch, if relevant.

Step 5: Create

  1. Click Create to finalize the inventory adjustment.

    ⚠️ Note: Once saved, an inventory adjustment is permanent. The type, date, branch, and items cannot be changed afterward, and the adjustment cannot be deleted.

  2. Navigate to the Adjustments Overview to track and monitor all changes.

  3. Confirm that your adjustments have been accurately recorded.
