How to Duplicate a Journal Entry

Quickly create a copy of an existing journal entry using the Duplicate feature in the Row Action menu.

Need to record a journal entry similar to a previous one? Instead of creating it from scratch, you can duplicate any journal entry. This is especially useful for recurring transactions or entries that follow a standard structure.

Steps to Duplicate a Journal Entry:

  1. Navigate to Manual Journals: In the top navigation bar, click the More dropdown menu and select Manual Journals.

  2. Open Row Actions: Locate the journal entry you want to copy and click the three-dot action menu (⋮) on the far left of its row.

  3. Select Duplicate: Click Duplicate from the dropdown menu.

  4. Edit and Publish: The system will instantly generate a copy of the selected journal entry. This copy will appear in the table with a Draft status, allowing you to safely edit its details before saving or publishing.
